On October 19th, 2024, a crew from DUBC, competing as Trinity College Dublin, raced in the Men’s Club 8’s category at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, USA. In perfect sunny conditions, the crew clocked a time of 15:30.9 and came 15th out of 36 entries in the category.

Boating from Harvard’s Newell Boathouse and supported by numerous alumni of DUBC, it was an incredible experience for those of us involved to take part in the largest and one of the most famous 3 day regattas in the world.

The team was delighted to reconnect with many US-based alumni and supporters of the club who no doubt enjoyed watching the weekend’s racing in the pristine New England sunshine. The event also gave us a brilliant opportunity to showcase the college and its rowing programme.

On that Saturday evening, we hosted a sit-down interview with the Paris 2024 Olympic champion in the Men’s Single Sculls, Olli Zeidler. Candidly discussing his journey from 7th place at the Tokyo Olympics to Champion in Paris, the audience were offered a fantastic insight into his training regime and single-minded desire to win.

We want to again extend a massive thank you to the Trinity Trust [Twitter: @TCDTrust] for their generous support which enabled DUBC to compete at the Head of the Charles Regatta 2024.
