Trinity Regatta 2019 took place on Saturday 11th of May. Despite many Irish crews racing abroad at Ghent Regatta in Belgium, the impressive entry ensured the staging of the largest Trinity Regatta in recent years.

The highlight of the day came when the Trinity Senior 8+ faced off against formidable opposition in the form of Blue Star Boat Club of The University of Newcastle. DUBC’s second crew, racing in the Club 8+ event, also registered an impressive victory, beating Neptune easily in the final. With no other entries in the Novice category, the novice crew stepped up to race in the Club event, but ultimately came up short against a far more experienced crew from Commercial Rowing Club.

The 1969 and 1979 Senior Crews returned to the regatta to celebrate their respective 50th and 40th anniversaries. The regatta was also notable for its increasing international presence. KSRV Njord, from Leiden in The Netherlands, returned to the regatta for the 3rd  time. They were joined by a crew from the Dutch Armed Forces.
